Small Groups

“Only in authentic community can you have authentic love, and that’s why the value of small groups is so important.”

Disciple Making Groups

Small groups for people who want to further develop their spiritual disciplines and dig deep in growing their faith.

  • A bible study for women, led by Pastor Loren, on Tuesday mornings. They work through a provided study and dig deep into scripture.

Community Groups

Small groups made up of people who want to build in-depth relationships with others.

  • A group of moms that meets twice a month on Sunday evenings to discuss a chosen devotional and build deep connections.

  • Come with your scrapping projects and equipment, or any other crafty projects and enjoy the easy, laid back place to work with good company!

  • If you have “free time” in the middle of the week, join the third Thursday of each month for a pot luck lunch and games in the Gathering Room.

Youth Groups

Small groups for the youth of our church, varying ages.

  • At Good Shepherd we run a two year curriculum for Confirmation. One year focuses on the Bible and the other on the basics of faith. Both grades combine for sessions & we rotate the curriculum each year. In addition, we place students into parent-led small groups which meet each week after our large-group lesson. In these small groups kids share their highs and lows, talk together about what they are learning, and grow together in faith & friendship.

  • Our 5/6 Connect ministry is for all current 5-6th graders and meets on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm-8:30 pm following our Wednesday night meal & worship (during the school year). Lead by our ministry staff, this group meets for games, ice cream, and relationship building.

  • Kids Choir is a great opportunity for young students to come together for fellowship, fun, faith, and of course, singing! Students will practice on Wednesday evenings and perform occasionally at Sunday worship services and Wednesday night worship. They will also be working on music for the Christmas musical (which all students are invited to participate in, not just choir kids!) as well as a Spring Musical!

  • During Sunday and Wednesday services we also offer Children’s Ministry for all children Pre-K through 6th grade. Kids are dismissed after the Children’s Sermon and return for Communion.

Service Groups

  • Do you consider yourself handy? Every Thursday morning, Pastor Loren and a group of people meet for coffee, rolls and fellowship and then work to complete projects inside and outside of our church building.

  • This group meets in the Gathering Room on Monday mornings to make quilts and blankets for WeCAN and others in need.
