Good Shepherd March Madness Bracket Challenge
Even though we just got dug out from a blizzard, March is here — and spring is just around the corner.
March in Minnesota is Food Share Month, and here at Good Shepherd we raise funds for our local Westonka Food Shelf.
And, thanks to generous donors, every dollar raised is quadrupled — making an even greater impact for our neighbors in need.
And of course, March also means March Madness — the NCAA Basketball Tournaments.
This year, Good Shepherd is hosting a brand new way to support the Westonka Food Shelf: The Dunk on Hunger 2026 Bracket Challenge!
How Does this Work?
First, you enter our bracket challenge for $10 per entry. Each entry gets you two brackets - one for the Men’s NCAA Tournament and one for the Women’s NCAA Tournament. All proceeds go directly to the Westonka Food Shelf — and, every dollar is quadrupled, so your $10 becomes $40 for our neighbors in need. There's no limit on entries. Want to enter 10 times? Go for it. More entries = more impact = better odds of winning.
What Do I Win?
Since every dollar of your entry goes to the Food Shelf, the prize isn't cash — it's something even better! And priceless!
We will have two champions - the winner of the Men's bracket and the winner of the Women's bracket - and each will receive exclusive VIP seating for themselves & their family at our Easter 10:00am worship service. You'll select your seats in advance and staff will reserve them — no more arriving 45 minutes early to make sure everyone can sit together or that you have to sit in the front row! Can't make Easter? No problem. Your VIP seats can be used for any future Good Shepherd worship service.
How Do I Sign Up?
We're using ESPN to host the bracket challenge. There are separate groups for the Men's and Women's tournaments — you can enter one or both. The password for both groups is jesus (all lowercase).
Follow these steps:
1) Click the Men's and/or Women's bracket link below (or both!). You'll land on the ESPN Tournament Challenge site. If you don't have an ESPN account, create one for free — click "Sign Up" and follow the prompts. It only takes a minute.
2) Once logged in, click "Join Group" when prompted. Enter the password: jesus (all lowercase)
3) Fill out your bracket by picking who you think wins each game.
4) Hit "Submit" before the deadline. You're in!
5) Pay your $10 entry fee (per entry) using one of these options: Cash or check — bring it to the church office. Venmo — @Derek-Tronsgard → venmo.com/u/Derek-Tronsgard
⏰ DEADLINE: Thursday morning, 10:00am sharp. Brackets must be submitted before the games begin — no exceptions.
